Tomlinson Press

Tomlinson Press was founded with a simple mission:  to make self-publishing truly professional. As a fellow writer and book-lover, I understand how overwhelming the publishing process can feel. That's why I created a full-service boutique publishing support company that provides the same quality and care you'd expect from a traditional publisher - without giving up your creative control or your royalties.

Whether you're a first-time author or a seasoned writer, we treat every project with the attention and expertise it deserves.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE POLICY

**At Tomlinson Press, we believe every book should reflect the unique voice, creativity, knowledge, and life experiences of its author. For that reason, we do not publish manuscripts that have been written or substantially generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are committed to preserving the integrity of the writing process and supporting genuine human authorship.

We recognize that AI can be a useful tool in certain aspects of publishing such as creating book covers, illustrations within the book, or certain design elements, but this must be disclosed to Tomlinson Press at the time of consutlation.

Our mission is to help real authors share their stories, expertise, and imagination with readers through authentic, human-written books. If you have questions about our AI policy, we are happy to discuss your project before you submit you manuscript to us for a quote.

Our Commitment:
* Fair Pricing
* Personal Service
* Excellence

Mudsley the Turtle has a Problem was a very special project for Tomlinson Press. Kelli's older cousin is married to Gloria, hence the same last name as Tomlinson Press.

Gloria Tomlinson is a retired educator with more than 25 years of experience inspiring young minds in Texas classrooms. A lifelong learner, she attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Tx for a while, then Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Tx and the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.

Throughout her career, Gloria taught first grade at Kendleton Elementary, where she guided students through reading, math, science, history, and spelling for ten years. She later served as a special education teacher for grades 3-5 at Brawner Middle School in Granbury, Texas. She brought patience, creativity, and heart to students with diverse learning needs.

After her full-time teaching career, she spent eight years as a substitute teacher at Brady Elementary and Middle Schools, supporting students and staff in every role imaginable - from the library and computer lab to the principal's office, nurse's office, and physical education.

Now retired, Gloria has turned her lifelong love of teaching and storytelling into writing. Her debut children's book reflects the same warmth, imagination, and dedication she brought to the classroom, aiming to inspire and delight young readers everywhere.

Gloria hopes her debut book reminds children and adults that it's never too late to follow your dreams!

Author, Ericka James

On April 30, 1997, author Ericka James’s life changed forever. In the early morning hours. Ericka’s little sister, who was only five days away from turning twelve and her little nine-year-old brother were missing from their home. Ericka was a senior in high school and so close to graduation. She would be the first in their family to graduate high school and could not miss any more days of school or she would not graduate.

Ericka and her mother frantically searched for the children, thinking they had probably just wandered off down to the creek behind their home to play. Ericka’s mother reassured her they couldn’t have gone far and told her to go on to school, that she would keep looking.

In reality, the children had been abducted from the home by a depraved man seeking vengeance. After hearing the news of the devastating event, community members of the small Texas town came out in droves to help search for the children.
The events that unfolded thereafter affected the family in ways that no one could have imagined. Tragedy upon tragedy. Life seemed to be moving on for everyone else after this unimaginable event, but for Ericka she felt lost and hopeless. Her goals and dreams for her future seemed meaningless now. Ericka then contemplated what the world would be like without her in it. Her baby sister was gone. Then, one day she read the Bible and her whole life changed.

Our Clients Say...

As an author, songwriter, and poet, I was initially nervous about the publishing process, but my fears immediately faded during my first meeting with Kelli, owner of Tomlinson Press. After self-publishing my first book last year, I knew I needed professional expertise to help my work get noticed. Her creativity and skills in editing and book formatting have given my work the professional edge it needed. It is clear Kelli genuinely cares about an author’s vision. She understood my dream from the start and used her resources to make it a reality. Thank you Kelli for your guidance and for making the creative process so seamless.
